Surviving Winter Blues
Here are a few simple steps:Â
- Increase your vitamin D levels!
Good brand of vitamin D is a spray ‘Better You Vitamin D3’ I suggest 1000units per one spray.Â
If you have not just come back from a sunny holiday, take 3000 units once a day for about 10 weeks then reduce to 1000units once a day. This is adult dose.
2. Get SAD Lamp/Therapy Light/ Happy Lamp. The best time to use it is for 30min to a few hours in the morning. That way it regulates circadian rhythm (awake and sleep cycles).Â
3. Socialise with your friends; make new friends.Â
4. Get outdoors
5. Nourish yourselfÂ
Physically: good nutrition
Emotionally through your family, friends, music, arts…
Spiritually by finding what inspires you and doing it.Â
6. Seek help and confide in a friend or a family member (if you are not yet doing it)
7. Use Journalling
8. Find meaning in your experiences. A great therapist would be very helpful for that. Turn scars into Stars (Joel Osteen)
